Scenes from Tate City, Georgia

Welcome to Tate City, Georgia! Drive if you like, or put on your hiking shoes. Either way, get ready to enjoy the beauty of Tate City.

The Tallulah River is a three-minute walk from the cabin.

A fabulous swimming hole is a mile or two down the road. It's an easy drive, but a beautiful walk.

Plop your chair down, let the river keep your drink cold, and relax. Even adults can't resist the rocks.

This waterfall is a 15-minute hike from the cabin. Walk right into the waterfall. Don't forget your picnic lunch.

The Tate City Mall. One of only 3 original buildings left from Tate City's days as a mining town.

You don't have to go anywhere for this view; it's in the backyard.

The Tate City Community Center was the original church & schoolhouse in the 1800s. It's now available for resident use, and serves as the Tate City polling station during elections.

The Tallulah River gets bigger, faster, wider as you head down Tate City Road.

Head in the opposite direction and discover the origins of the Tallulah River.

It's gorgeous in winter, too!
